(Hinweis: Eine deutsche Fassung dieser Infos findet ihr bei den jeweiligen Unterseiten unten!)
Nearly all tertiary education providers in the state of Baden-Württemberg have introduced tuition fees as of Wintersemester 2017/18 for international students with residence outside the European Economic Area (EEA), in line with changes to the tertiary education regulations
(§3 Landeshochschulgebührengesetz (LHGebG); Affected students are required to pay EUR 1500 per semester, in addition to the student administration fee of more than EUR 170. The student university council does not support these changes, as seen here and here.
There are 3 possibilities through which affected international students can be exempted from paying tuition fees (described below). To ensure that all personal circumstances are taken into account and to ascertain whether your situation exempts you from tuition fees, we recommend contacting the academic international office / Department of international relations at the University of Heidelberg.
2. Exemptions for commencing students, as determined by university statutes
3. Application for exemption/deferral of tuition fees at the University of Heidelberg
(IMPORTANT FOR CURRENTLY PAYING STUDENTS)
The academic international office responds to queries regarding these exemptions. The social department of the student university council is also happy to provide advice to the best of their ability (email: soziales(at)stura.uni-heidelberg.de). Detailed information, however, is obtained from the International Relations Division.
