Even if questions remain unanswered after the event, don’t be afraid to run for office – after the election there will be a transition phase until October during which the old board will train the new board so that you are provided with everything you need to know and can share in the experience of your predecessors.
If you are unable to attend, please do not hesitate to contact the Doktorandenkonvent directly for more information: doktorandenkonvent@uni-heidelberg.de. Candidacy deadline for the Board of the Doktorandenkonvent is June 18! Send the candidacy form to the above address by then.

The Board of the Doktorandenkonvent meets every Monday at 18:00 in the Käthe Leichter Forum both online via Zoom and in person. If you would like to take part or have specific concerns, please send an email to doktorandenkonvent@uni-heidelberg.de in advance so that you can receive Zoom access.

In the last few weeks, three Urplena for three Autonomous Departments have taken place – Urplena are used to find people who will run for Autonomous Departments and be elected as such by the StuRa. Two Urplena were successful: there are candidates for the working children unit and the itsfun unit.

The two plenary sessions that have now been held for the Enthinderungsreferat (in full: Autonomous Unit for Students with Chronic Illnesses and Disabilities) were also successful: there was a lively exchange and interested people who continue to advocate for the issue and want to participate in the next Monday, 03.06.2024, 18.00 hrs for another plenary session in the Mathematikon. All students with chronic illnesses and disabilities or who want to advocate for barrier-free studies are cordially invited, including those with physical, mental or psychological disabilities – everyone who feels addressed is welcome! Registration is not necessary.

  • Further information can be found here until the meeting

Also on Monday, June 3, at 19.00, there will be a debate on the Neue Universität, HS 14, there will be a debate on the local elections between representatives of (almost) all of the candidate lists. 1.4 Podium on the Stura elections 13.06., 19:00

On Thursday, 13 June, the big debate on the Stura election will take place in the New University at 19:00. Here, too, representatives from all candidate lists will be debating. Here, too, you can put your questions to the candidates.

Up-to-date information on both debates can be found at sturahd.de/podium, the events will also be streamed at sturahd.de/sturatube.

2. candidacies in the StuRa

The content-related work of the StuRa takes place mainly in departments, which are often supported by Arbeitskreisen and Arbeitsgruppens, and the StuRa also has 4 committees or commissions. The speakers and members of committees and commissions and some other offices are elected in the StuRa. Interested parties submit a candidacy to the StuRa and introduce themselves there.

The Wahlkommission (WaKo) is also looking for members! The Wako currently has 5 members, i.e. 5 seats are vacant. You are also welcome to come to our meetings first if you would like to gain an insight into our work.

If you want to know who is running or who has been elected, you can read the reports from the StuRa. You can find them after the StuRa meetings on the StuRa homepage under “Selected projects and offers”

3. information on candidates and lists

3.1 StuRa and FSR

The first candidates for the upcoming student council and StuRa candidacies have been received. You can follow who is running online. If you still want to stand as a candidate, you have until 7.6 (StuRa) or 18.06. (FSR) Time. For the board of the Doktorandenkonvent (see 0.) you must also apply by 18.06. run for office

3.2 Senate and Fakultätsräte

This semester, the university’s electoral office is offering candidates the opportunity to link to their website on the electoral office’s homepage. Anyone wishing to make use of this option must contact the election management(sandra.ott@zuv.uni-heidelberg.de) and will then receive the necessary information.

4. information for Fachschaften

4.1 Register your elections!

Dear FSs who are voting this semester, please register your elections. You can find out which elections are coming up in the election announcement

4.2 Election advertising: neutrality requirement for Fachschaftsräte

Fachschaftsräte must remain neutral in committee elections! This means for Fakultäts- und Senatswahlen:

  • if there are several lists, you must inform about all (or no) lists
  • if students from different subjects are running on a list, you must provide information about all candidates – or not at all
  • if you want to cover the costs of election advertising, you must support all lists/candidates from your faculty/for the Senate in a transparent procedure

This means for student council and StuRa elections:

  • if several people are running for a Fachschaftsrat, you must provide information about all (or no) candidates
  • if there are several lists for the StuRa election, you must provide information about all (or none) of the lists

If you do not provide neutral information, this will distort the election and the election will usually have to be repeated.
