Welcome to the summer semester from the elective perspective!
In this first election info in the summer semester you will find, as always, information on elections in the current semester as well as information on the work in and around the committees.-
1. Elections in summer semester 2025
In the summer semester, elections are traditionally held for the StuRa, for many student councils (FSR) – especially for the “field faculties” – for the board of the Doctoral Convention, for the faculty councils and for the University Senate.
The regular FSR elections will take place online from 10.06.25 to 17.06.25. The term of office of the newly elected FSR members begins on 01.10.25 (with the exception of Semitic Studies) and ends on 30.09.26 for most student councils (FSen). The candidacy forms will be activated on 29.04.25 at midnight. The candidacy period ends on 04.06.25, 16:00.

- The Fachschaften affected by the election are requested to register their elections in good time

The StuRa election will also take place from 10.06.25 to 17.06.25 and is made up of representatives of individual student councils and university-wide elected list representatives . The candidacy deadline for StuRa lists ends on 19.05.25, 16:00.
In order to be elected as a list, a group of people must jointly submit an election proposal (“list”). Each person on this election proposal must run individually online, and the group must also submit an overall list for the election proposal, on which all persons must be listed.

A tip for everyone who wants to put up a list: each list can receive up to 10 votes in the election, and up to two votes can be cast per person. If you nominate at least 5 people, you can combine the maximum possible number of votes on one list – which increases your chances of gaining a place on the StuRa. If you have any questions, you can contact the Department of Political Education, the Committee Department or the Election Commission.
The elections to the Board of the Doctoral Convention will take place from
The elections for the faculty councils and the university senate will take place online from 10.06.25 to 16.06.25. Candidatures must be received by the university’s election office by 09.05.25, 16:00.

2. advertising/info material for the elections in the summer semester
…StuRa?…lists?… FSR? …faculty council? ,…
For all first-year students, second-year students and third-year students who do not yet know exactly what the elections are about, there is information material available this semester:
- First-time voters info
- Election information flyer (available from approx. end of May)
- Student councils can order flyers here
In order to gain a deeper insight into the work of the VS, we recommend that all interested parties visit their student councils or attend meetings of working groups, working groups or departments. A good opportunity to meet people who are active in student councils or on a university-wide level is the Open Day on May 28 from 14:00 at the StuRa office in Albert-Überle-Straße.
This year there will also be a Studi-o-Mat again, which will show you your best list match for the StuRa election. Instructions and deadlines for the submission of answers for the Studi-o-mat by the lists will follow soon.
In addition, the publicity team is giving all candidate lists the opportunity to introduce themselves on the VS website and on the VS Instagram channel – giving all voters the chance to find out more about the lists. Deadlines for submitting the self-presentation will also follow soon
If you’re still undecided? No problem! At the panel discussion on June 2, 2025, you can grill the lists directly with your questions and ask them holes in their stomachs. You can find more information in advance on the website.
Student councils will find election posters and sharepics for the FSR and StuRa elections online from the beginning of May.
You don’t just want to vote, but also actively contribute ideas? Then really come to the meetings, submit motions, take part in discussions – or run for office! Use your voice and your opportunities to help shape your environment!
3. Original plenary session for Autonomous offices on Wednesday, 07.05.25, 18:00
The autonomous AntiRa department is vacant, the autonomous working children’s department will be newly founded. Therefore, the election commission invites all affected students of the University of Heidelberg to the two original planning meetings for these departments on 07.05.25, 18:00 in the new physics lecture hall (next to the StuRa office in Albert-Ueberle-Str. 3-5).
4. StuRa members in summer 2025
5. calls for candidates for central VS offices
Throughout the semester, there are calls for candidates for offices in the student body (VS), which take place in the StuRa. Candidacy for these offices takes place via an online form. The candidatures are presented in a meeting in the StuRa, the candidates are interviewed there by the StuRa members (1st reading). The election takes place in another meeting (usually the following meeting: 2nd reading).

- Candidacy form / Overview of candidacies received
- You can find information on committees in the overview of offices
6. termination of office, resignation and certificates of engagement
If you are a member of a VS committee and realize that the work is becoming too much, you can resign from your position. Anyone who is no longer enrolled at Heidelberg University can no longer be a member of a VS committee. If you change subject, you can no longer be a member of the relevant Fachrat or Fachschaftsrat or be delegated to the StuRa on behalf of the Fachschaft. However, you can remain a financial officer (Finanzverantwortliche*r) or member of an electoral committee (Wahlraumausschuss). If someone finishes their studies or changes subject, we ask you to inform us of this or the person concerned should inform us of the end of their term of office via the withdrawal form (indicate exmatriculation or change of subject in the comments field).
You can have a certificate of commitment issued for your involvement in the VS and its committees – you can apply for it using the online form.
The election working group is looking forward to great commitment and many candidates in the summer semester! Please inform us of new appointments to the StuRa and resignations in good time.
